- 8 - <br />Councilman Pickar's Report <br />Councilman Pickar stated he had attended the Lakeside Park meeting. The beach is <br />now open and the life guards have been hired. The new supervisor is Ed Stankie. <br />Registration for swiimuing lessons is now open. Fees are $3.00 for individuals and <br />$5.00 for family. The next Lakeside Park meeting will be June 28th and at that time <br />he should have a report on the playground equipment. <br />Councilman Pickar remarked about Dennis being gone and that he would be missing <br />part of July for the same reason. Mr. Pickar will be at Camp Ripley for the 17th year. <br />Inspector Skiba's Report <br />Inspector Skiba inquired about a house to be built on the corner of Woodcrest and <br />Brighton Lane. The owner wanted to face the house to Woodcrest instead of Brighton <br />Lane. Inspector Skiba was told to direct him to attend the Planning Commission <br />meeting. <br />Mayor Neisen announced that the Industrial Couuiiission would be meeting on Wednesday <br />evening. <br />Attorney Meyers Report <br />Attorney Meyers presented an ordinance establishing the Industrial Commission and <br />the Clerk's Office was directed to furnish copies to the Conunission for their reviewal. <br />Attorney Meyers read a letter from the Metropolitan Council in regards to the <br />acquisition of the New Brighton trunk sewer line. The consequences of this <br />acquisition will be the uniform assessment against all municipalities in the seven <br />county metropolitan area. <br />Attorney Meyers brought to our attention that the Mounds View verses Moen case <br />would be coming up in Anoka on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. Moen is now suing the <br />Village of Mounds View. <br />Attorney Meyers stated that the Lewis Lines have been cleaning up their property <br />and straightening things out somewhat. They have 11 buses there at the present time. <br />Attorney Meyers presented a stipulation concerning the Millie Schroeder property <br />to be signed by the Mayor and Clerk. Our right of ways have been protected. <br />MSP (Hodges /Johnson) To authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign the stipulation. 5 Ayes <br />Engineer Boehm's Report <br />Engineer Boehm read the report he researched regarding land Ramsey County may want <br />in Mounds View for their Open Space Plan and presented a map showing the green areas. <br />Councilman Baumgartner asked how many homes would be involved in a strip located in <br />northern part of our village. Engineer Boehm replied, ten to twelve homes. He stated <br />this would be the answer to our drainage and park problems. <br />The Council decided to make a decision at the next meeting. <br />Engineer Boehm read a report from the Metropolitan Sewer Board stating they approved <br />the comprehensive plan for the collection, treatment and disposal of sewage for the <br />Village of Mounds View , and -that one of the requirements is that a local ordinance <br />should be enacted to prevent development of wet lands, marshes, and to control develop- <br />ment of lands abutting lakes and water coarses• <br />
