PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RSMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />November 27, 1972 <br />Regular Meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by Mayor <br />_,eisen at 8:00 P.M. on Monday, November 27, 1972 at the Village Hall, 2401 Highway #10, <br />St. Paul, Minnesota 55112. <br />Present: <br />Mayor Neisen <br />Councilman Hodges <br />Councilman Baumgartner <br />Councilman Johnson <br />Councilman Pickar <br />Also Present: <br />Clerk- Administrator Zyl1a <br />Attorney Meyers <br />Engineer Boehm <br />MSP (Hodges - Johnson) To approve the minutes of November 13, 1972 amended to include as <br />an attachment the report of accidents at the intersection of Silver Lake Road and <br />Highway #10. <br />Residents Requests and Comments from the Floor: <br />5 Ayes <br />Ambrose Yehle, representing Tom Thumb Superette appeared requesting Village Council approval <br />to build a superette and laundramat at the SE corner of Edgewood Drive and County Road I. <br />Clerk Zylia stated that according to the Zoning Ordinance the plan presented was short 8 <br />parking spaces even if 10 spaces were added adjacent to the South of the building. Mr. <br />Yehle stated that other superettes of similar size located in New Brighton, Bloomington, <br />Brooklyn Park and New Hope have from 20 to 35 spaces maximum and the parking has proved <br />jequate. Mounds View Ordinance #67 requires 41 spaces. <br />_4P ( Pickar- Hodges) To grant approval of the variance to the Tom Thumb Superette Company <br />to provide 8 less parking spaces than required by Ordinance provided that a 10 foot buffer <br />is maintained on the South side of the property and the fence proposed in the plan is <br />increased from 4 feet to 6 feet high. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Hodges- Johnson) To grant a building permit to Tom Thumb Superette to construct a <br />Tom thumb Superette and laundramat at County Road I and Edgewood Drive, subject to the <br />conditions as set forth in the variance approval and subject to the approval of the <br />building inspector and fire chief. <br />5 Ayes <br />A request by Mrs. Dean Mapes to park a mobile home belonging to her sister at 7980 Woodlawn <br />Drive in order to advertise it for sale for 2 or 3 months was referred to the Planning <br />Commission. <br />Mr. Ted Moore, 5454 Jackson Drive asked that no parking signs be placed on the West side <br />of Jackson Drive from Bronson Drive to Groberg Street. Since there are currently signs <br />on the East side of Jackson Drive as requested by Mr. Moore, the Council directed the <br />matter to the Police Chief for his recommendation. <br />Mayor Neisen's Report <br />MSP (Neisen- Hodges) To accept the resignation of John Kardell from the Mounds View Police <br />Department effective January 1, 1973. 5 Ayes <br />
