Gunderson; Restaurant - Mermaid Cocktail Lounge, Inc., <br />Launching Pad Supper Club; Set -Up - Bel -Rae Ballroom; Sewer & Water - Betts <br />Excavating, Richfield Plumbing Co., Olsons Plumbing, Maplewood Sewer & Water; <br />Sunday Liquor - Launching Pad Supper Club, Mermaid Cocktail Lounge, Inc.; <br />On -Sale Intoxicating - Mermaid Cocktail Lounge, Inc.; Off -Sale Intoxicating - <br />Simons Liquor, Donatelle, Inc., B & R Liquor, Mermaid Cocktail Lounge, Inc. 5 Ayes <br />MSP ( Pickar- Baumgartner) To approve the transient merchant's license for <br />Delores Saunders to sell statues and velvet paintings at the Skelly Station, <br />2190 Highway #10. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Hodges- Johnson) To approve the bills: General Fund checks #7316 thru <br />#7355, Payroll Account checks #1020 thru 1022, Payroll checks #305 thru #332, <br />and check #7354 transferring $10,271.88 to Payroll Account to pay gross pay <br />of May 30, 1973 (from General - $8,152.38, Water - $1,354.00, Sewer - $765.50). <br />Total disbursements $29,572.58. 5 Ayes <br />MSP (Neisen - Pickar) To authorize the Clerk to advertise for an assistant for <br />the building inspector to serve in either the capacity of building inspector <br />or plumbing and heating inspector with salary to be negotiated. <br />Clerk Zylla announced that according to a division form received from the <br />County Auditors Office, it appeared that the Birkeland - Weidemann subdivision <br />has been completed in accordance with the original subdivision request. <br />Councilman Hodges' Report <br />Councilman Hodges reported on a meeting he attended at the County Board Room <br />regarding re- assessment that has occurred in suburban Ramsey County. He <br />informed the Council that the State Tax Commissioner has not placed an <br />across - the -board increase on Mounds View real property for this year although <br />other communities are experiencing increases of 10 to 15 percent. <br />Councilman Hodges, reporting on funding for emergency centers, informed the <br />Council that federal funds could be obtained on a matching basis for the <br />area constructed below ground. <br />5 Ayes <br />Councilman Johnson's Report <br />Councilman Johnson reported that he and Clerk Zylla attended a meeting with <br />the Public Works Department on May 16th, and on that same day, they saw Mr. <br />Julius Bonello, president of Century Motor Freight, to discuss the possibility <br />of an open house at their new terminal as a means of obtaining some publicity <br />for the Village of Mounds View since Century's facility was financed by <br />Village Industrial Revenue Bonds. <br />Councilman Johnson declared that he has reason to suspect there is a violation <br />of certain building code regulations at 5140 Long Lake Road. <br />MSP (Johnson - Baumgartner) To direct the building inspector to examine the <br />situation and to take whatever steps he deems appropriate. 5 Ayes <br />Councilman Johnson asked Engineer Bearden whether well #2 was being repaired. <br />Engineer Bearden informed Councilman Johnson that he had examined the well on <br />
