PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL <br />VILLAGE OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />A Regular Meeting of the Mounds View Village Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Neisen at 8:00 P.M. on July 9, 1973, at the Mounds View Village Hall, <br />2401 Highway #10, St. Paul, Minnesota 55112. <br />Present: <br />Mayor Neisen <br />Councilman Hodges <br />Councilman Johnson <br />Councilman Baumgartner <br />Councilman Pickar <br />Also Present: <br />Deputy Clerk Sandgren <br />Attorney Meyers <br />Engineer Bearden <br />MSP (Hodges- Baumgartner) To approve the minutes of June 25, 1973. 4 Ayes <br />Pickar Abstained <br />Residents Requests and Comments from the Floor <br />A resident living in the Dailey Homes Addition presented a petition for street <br />lights in that area. The Council accepted the petition and Councilman Johnson <br />informed the audience that NSP had the comprehensive street lighting plan for <br />that area. The proposal has been in for some time and hopefully the <br />lights would be installed soon. <br />A resident inquired as to the procedure for extending Greenwood Drive north to <br />Ardan Avenue. Mayor Neisen told him a petition would have to be presented to <br />the Council, signed by at least 35% of the land owners. <br />Mayor Neisen's Report <br />Mayor Neisen reported that the Clerk was on vacation and his assistant was <br />attending the Council meeting. <br />Mayor Neisen read the Police Report for June. <br />MSP (Johnson - Pickar) To award the bid for the 1973 squad car to Midway Ford <br />for $3,100. 5 Ayes <br />Mayor Neisen explained that no companies would bid when we went through the <br />Ramsey County Purchasing Department. One other bid was received from Art <br />Goebel Ford - $3,100. Midway Ford's car had the correct engine size desired - <br />Mid size V -8 - therefore their bid was accepted. <br />Mayor Neisen read a letter from Mr. Glen VanWormer, District Traffic Engineer <br />relative to traffic control of Trunk Highway 10 at County Road I and Long Lake <br />Road and the proposed new shopping center. <br />MSP (Neisen- Hodges) To hire Mr. Victor Hansen as part time assistant building <br />inspector effective July 5 at a salary of $4.50 per hour with an automatic <br />increase of $5.00 per hour effective January 1, 1974. In addition to his <br />regular hourly rate, an automobile allowance of $25.00 per month. No other <br />salary increase will take effect January 1, 1974. <br />Upon the request of Councilman Johnson, Mayor Neisen amended the motion to <br />read 20 hours per week. 5 Ayes <br />
