PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A Regular Meeting of the Mounds View City Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Neisen at 8:00 P.M. on May 13, 1974 at the Mounds View City Hall, 2401 Highway <br />#10, Mounds View, Minnesota 55112. <br />Present: <br />Mayor Neisen <br />Councilman Hodges <br />Councilman Baumgartner <br />Councilman Pickar <br />Councilman Johnson <br />Also Present: <br />Clerk - Administrator Zylla <br />Attorney Meyers <br />Engineer Bearden <br />MSP (Hodges - Baumgartner) To approve the minutes of April 22, 1974. <br />4 Ayes <br />Johnson Abstained <br />Mr. Tom Gustafson, 2295 County Road H2, asked how long he would have to put up with <br />the blowing sand from the area east of the Launching Pad parking lot. The admin- <br />istrator reported that as of last Wednesday, the building inspector informed him <br />that except for a small area, the sand was covered with top soil or dolomite. Mr. <br />Waste still had not seeded, however. <br />A motion by Councilman Johnson that the resident call City Hall when the sand <br />commences to blow again, died for lack of a second. <br />The resident was told to call the building inspector on the next windy day and <br />ask him to investigate. <br />Mr. Robert Case, manager of the Groberg Apartments appeared to request that 24 -hour <br />parking be allowed on Groberg Street especially in the summer months. There <br />currently is a 2 -hour limit on parking in the area. Mr. Case also stated that the <br />police are discriminating in who receives parking tickets in the area. The Council <br />directed the Administrator to get a letter from the police chief on the problem <br />with his recommendation. <br />Mayor Neisen's Report <br />Mayor Neisen informed the Council that John Boland, Chairman of the Metropolitan <br />Council, would be at the New Brighton City Hall this coming Thursday evening to <br />discuss various problems with local officials. <br />Mayor Neisen read a letter from the St. Paul Council of Employment of the <br />Handicapped describing a program sponsored on May 23rd, to discuss the employment <br />of individuals receiving welfare assistance. <br />Mayor Neisen read copies of a letter sent to County Commissioner Ed Salverda and <br />School Board Member, Donovan Wendt commending them for their fine years of public <br />service. <br />
