Installation <br />would take place in spring and would be turned on in late spring or summer. <br />Some improvements would be necessary to roadway to adapt to traffic signals, <br />such as a north bound left turn lane on County Rd. I, some bitumous work on <br />approaches on County Rd. H2 and Highway #10. And it is necessary to install <br />some channelized right turn islands for traffic turning ofEof Highway #10. <br />Mr. VanWormer explained placement and problems of semiphores on Highway #10 <br />by diagraming on the blackboard. <br />His proposal was to show alternatives and get reactions from the people and <br />not to say this is what we are 'going' to do. He presented some solution to <br />problems that would be created on St. Stephens and County Rd. H2 and on Eastwood <br />and County Rd. I due to semiphores. On Greenfield they would restrict the flow <br />of traffic into that street. <br />Mr. Merron, 5240 Greenfield, voiced concern about cutting off Greenfield Avenue. <br />He asked how emergency vehicles would get into the area and how this would <br />affect traffic in other areas. <br />Mr. VanWormer said at Greenfield they could make the median longer or possibly <br />install a sloped curb for emergency vehicles. <br />Mr. Tom Shun, 5240 Greenfield,asked if consideration had been given to the cost <br />of stopping and starting cars which uses more gas. Suggests acceleration lane <br />blocking the street off so there is no left turn onto Greenfield. <br />Mr. VanWormer said they are concerned with more than right turning traffic. <br />Engineer Bearden asked about programming County Rd. H2, County Rd. I, and Silver <br />Lake Road. <br />Mr. VanWormer said they would be programming these intersections, but there are <br />variables such as different speeds that may necessitate some stopping of traffic <br />flow. <br />David Fiedler, was in favor of the cul -de -sac proposal and presented a petition <br />taken on Eastwood Road from County Rd. I to County Rd. J. Letters were sent <br />to all residents on Eastwood, 30 letters were returned. <br />Mayor Neisen read the petition. <br />MSP (Neisen - Hodges) To receive the 30 letters from residents of Eastwood Road. <br />29 were in favor and 1 oppossed. 5 Ayes <br />Ole Bacon, 2625 Highway #10, said blocking Eastwood Rd. would be creating a <br />hardship for him, because his driveway ingress and egress is on Eastwood Rd.; and <br />he is concerned about snowplowing, mail delivery, etc. He wondered if they had <br />enough land there to make a cul -de -sac. <br />Mayor Neisen stated that he had been in the area and there is enough area to make <br />a cul -de -sac. <br />
