-5- <br />He stated that plea bargaining would probably be more common under the new system <br />and cases would not receive as much personal attention as we have been able to <br />provide in Mounds View. <br />Councilman Johnson suggested that the Council express its concern about the <br />tremendous expense involved with the new court system and that tl.Council <br />specifically ask that city attorneys not be required to be present at all <br />arraignments. <br />MSP (Johnson - Baumgartner) To direct the city attorney to convey these feelings <br />to the County Court Administrator and to direct the city staff to convey these <br />sentiments in writing. <br />5 Ayes <br />Councilman Baumgartner's Report <br />Councilman Baumgartner reported that Midwest Planning would present a graphic map <br />of the city's proposed comprehensive plan the second week of October. <br />Councilman Pickar's Report <br />Councilman Pickar read highlights of the Lakeside Park Commission report of <br />the past season and of projects underway. He requested that the staff check <br />on fire insurance coverage for construction of the new city hall addition. <br />MS (Baumgartner- Johnson) To return the Lakeside Park 1975 Budget to the <br />Commission and request that the Budget be examined for possible reductions <br />particularly in the landscaping account. <br />Councilman Johnson asked Councilman Baumgartner if he would agree to remove the <br />specific reference to the landscaping account. <br />MS (Baumgartner - Johnson) To so amend Councilman Baumgartner's original motion. <br />Mayor Neisen stated that he felt it was unnecessary to return the Lakeside <br />Budget, because the Commission has not requested an increase over the 1974 Budget. <br />Roll call was taken on the Motion to amend. <br />Pickar Naye <br />Baumgartner Aye <br />Johnson Aye <br />Hodges Naye <br />Neisen Naye <br />Roll call was then taken on the original motion. <br />Pickar Naye <br />Baumgartner Aye <br />Johnson Naye <br />Hodges Naye <br />Neisen Naye <br />Attorney Meyers' Report <br />Attorney Meyers presented revisions of the code and an up -dated index. He <br />stated the purchase of the Silver Lake Road Park site was near completion. <br />MSP (Neisen - Baumgartner) To authorize payment to M & E Realty for $95,076.00 <br />for this purchase. <br />5 Ayes <br />
