-2- <br />February 10, 1975 <br />Mayor Johnson read a letter from State of Minnesota Department of Admini- <br />stration which consisted of a list of available commodity contracts through <br />the State. <br />Mr. Leonard Gareis, 5046 Silver Lake Road, asked about the home occupation <br />ordinance. <br />Councilman Baumgartner read an exerpt of the ordinance and noted that <br />additional information could be obtained at city hall. <br />Mr. Harley Rasmussen, 8380 Red Oak Drive, wanted to find out how soon <br />building permits for the land on the new streets in Project 1973 -4 <br />could be issued. <br />Engineer Bearden stated that it would be spring or early summer. Mayor <br />Johnson stated it would be difficult for builders of new homes to know <br />what grade to build on before the street grade is established. Mr. Rasmussen <br />felt the project would encourage most epople to ultimately divide their <br />land, and he felt that people should be allowed to develop this property <br />to help pay for the assessment in 1976. Attorney Meyers stated Council <br />could adopt a policy in anticipation of lots being split then the building <br />inspector would have something to follow. The ordinance on building <br />permits at present prohibits issuance of building permits without an <br />established road. <br />Mayor Johnson asked Engineer Bearden to get a time -table for an idea <br />of when improvements will be going in. <br />Mayor Johnson told the audience that last Monday evening the Council <br />interviewed applicants for the Planning Commission position, Paul Fedor, <br />Steven Thompson and Michael Lonergan. <br />Mayor Johnson submitted the name of Paul Fedor to fill the vacancy. <br />Council felt that because Mr. Fedor was a long -term resident in the <br />area and a local businessman and a member of the Businessmen's Association <br />that he would be a link between Council and the businessmen in the City. <br />MSP (Johnson- Baumgartner) To appoint Paul Fedor to serve a term of one <br />year on the Planning Commission in place of Robert Shelquist. 5 Ayes <br />Mayor Johnson told Mr. Thompson and Mr. Lonergan that he appreciated <br />their involvement and interest. <br />Mr. Steven Thompson commended Council for the manner in which this vacancy <br />was filled. <br />Clerk- Administrator Achen's Report <br />MSP (Hodges - Shelquist) to approve the following bills: General fund <br />checks No. 9691 through 9752, Payroll account checks No. 1146 through 1149, <br />Payroll checks No. 1683 through 1719, Transfer check No. 9753 transferring <br />from General $11,525.76, from Water $1,273.84, from Sewer $1,669.07 to pay <br />gross pay of February 15, 1975. Transfer check No. 121, transferring <br />$18,352.70 from Bond Account to General Account to close out the former. <br />Total Disbursements $84,795.74. <br />5 Ayes <br />
