PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A regular meeting of Mounds View City Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Johnson on June 23, 1975, at 8:04 p.m., at Mounds View City Hall, <br />2401 Highway 10, Mounds View, Mn. 55112 <br />Present: Mayor Johnson Also Present: Clerk- Administrator Achen <br />Councilman Baumgartner Attorney Meyers <br />'Councilman Shelquist Engineer Bearden <br />Absent: Councilman Hodges <br />Councilman Pickar <br />MSP (Shelquist- Baumgartner) to approve the minutes of June 9, 1975 with the <br />following corrections: Page 1, Resident's Requests, Mrs. Betty Moller's <br />statement on Rice Creek Watershed District Board meeting for public input <br />before adoption of proposed plan. Strike "before adoption of proposed plan.: <br />Insert before Water Resource Board on their overall plan. Page 2, para- <br />graph 6, should state Engineer Bearden said there was a heavy rain that <br />jumped the "boulevard" on the north side of Hillview and washed the sand <br />into the culvert. Page 9, 6th paragraph, flood plane is misspelled, <br />"plain" should be "plane ". Page 10, 7th paragraph, Outlot A should read <br />Outlots A "former" Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, and Outlots B "former" Lots 5, 6, 7, 8. <br />Mark Exhibit A should read "Mark old plat Exhibit A ". Page 14, second <br />paragraph, Councilman Shelquist "within the 728 and 864 square feet ". <br />Delete the word "this" in the last sentence changing it to read -- and some <br />cities reported they considered 728 square feet to be a three -car garage. <br />Resident's Requests and Comments from the Floor <br />Mr. Gordon Ziebarth, Bicentennial chairman, indicated to Council and City <br />that a Bicentennial Committee does exist and presented official Bicentennial <br />pins to Council members. They have been meeting regularly since early <br />Spring. Other officers are: Carol Baumgartner, secretary; and Helen Reimer, <br />Treasurer. The first project is scheduled for Sunday, July 27, and is <br />called "Evening in the Park" including a band concert by Irondale High School. <br />The time is tenatively set for 6 -9 p.m. The Bicentennial Committee is also <br />trying to arrange a pioneer reunion of residents of the City prior to 1958 <br />and document this event by photographs. Long range plans are for bike trails <br />and other plans and long -range budget are to be presented at the next <br />Council meeting. Mr. Ziebarth requested Council proclaim them an official <br />commission of the City of Mounds View. Also that they be granted a small <br />budget to be used for postage for publications, etc. He indicated that if <br />the long -range plans are accepted by the State they will share expenses <br />on a 50/50 basis. <br />Mayor Johnson expounded thatin order to obtain monies from State or Federal <br />levels, projects must be approved and submitted as soon as possible. <br />Mr. Ziebarth said one goal of the Bicentennial Committee is to unify a city <br />split by a major thoroughfare by 1. improving communications (baseball <br />tournament or similar event)1 2. building an illuminated sign close to <br />3 Ayes <br />
