-10- <br />June 23, 1975 <br />ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br />MSP (Johnson- Baumgartner) to table vacation of easement request of Richard <br />Carlson until information is received on what the easement is for. <br />3 Ayes <br />MSP (Johnson - Shelquist) to adopt Ordinance #230 amending Chapter 40.03, <br />Subdivision 4, zoning regulations to increase maximum garage size to 864 square <br />feet. 2 Ayes <br />Baumgartner Naye <br />Councilman Baumgartner gave a nave vote on the basis that an addition <br />of 136 square feet is the size it takes for one car. <br />Mrs. Barb Haake asked abazt the townhouses of Harstad and asked that they be checked <br />insure that landscaping, soil boring tests and topographical maps be on file. <br />MSP (Johnson- Baumgartner) to approve two temporary employees for the recreation <br />department. K. Foust, scorekeeper, 2145 Belle Lane at the rate of $3.00 per <br />game and Marcia deLaBruere, program supervisior, 215 E. Viking Drive at $675.00 <br />per month (CETA funded). 3 Ayes <br />MSP (Johnson - Shelquist) to table further payment of any fees to Walijarvi <br />and Associates until such time project is completely finished and has a <br />time to come to rest. <br />Administrator Achen reported as a solution to drainage problem on the city <br />hall addition, the building has been filled behind to force the water <br />to drain away from the building with a swale to be added to Highway 10 to <br />get rid of the water. The sump pump is getting plugged with silt. <br />Administrator Achen reported that Well House #2 may have to be completely <br />rebuilt. It may cost as much to repair as to completely rebuild the building. <br />Engineer Bearden explained what caused the incident at the well house and <br />said Mr. Zimnewictz said the back wall could be checked and underpinned <br />to reinforce the foundation for the walls to be set on. <br />3 Ayes <br />MSP (Baumgartner - Johnson) to approve administrator's clerical salary recommendations <br />as outlined on June 16th memorandum,effective June 16, 1975.(J.Gre $3.10 /hr. 2 Ayes <br />hr <br />D. Sandgren $4.60, A.Peddycoart $4.301, C. Waide $4.001, R.Moran $4.057 "Shelquist Naye <br />Councilman Shelquist objected to the motion in that it did not state the <br />duration ofthe pay change. <br />Mayor Johnson said increases were intended as special and special circumstances <br />prevail in this instance. <br />Mayor Johnson announced that Council would be exploring the possibility of <br />hiring a full time engineer on staff. <br />Engineer Bearden said as far as their firm in concerned, they encourage cities <br />to hire their own engineers and they would still be glad to work as consulting <br />engineers. <br />MSP (Baumgartner - Shelquist) to direct Administrator Achen to contact a hydrolo- <br />gist firm to meet with city officials to discuss and explain our problem. 3 Ayes <br />Administrator Achen requested approval for city contribution to police selection <br />standards study. He said the major factor for contribution is to develop selection <br />standards to assure the best possible police personnel without discrimination. <br />
