-13-
June 23, 1975
Judy Rowley , member of Lakeside Park Commission said the agreement is
that Mounds View does summer work and Spring Lake Park does the winter work.
Something should be done about who does what to distribute the load. And,
a lot of people from Spring Lake Park and Blaine use the park and she personally
has not seen very many Mounds View residents using the facility. Mr. Matti
didn't want Mounds View police to check the park, he said he did not trust
them and felt Spring Lake Park police should be called instead. Mrs. Rowley
feels there is a lot of leaning toward Spring Lake Park because the chairman
is from Spring Lake Park.
She said there had been a celebration at the park and the beer license had
been issued through Spring Lake Park and questioned if they should not
also have obtained a license through Mounds View.
Councilman Baumgartner said a review of funds should be made.
Mayor Johnson said the costs would have to be substantiated or Mounds View's
contribution to the park may not be there this year.
Councilman Baumgartner stated that they have not provided us with an
adequate financial statement.
COUNCILMAN BAUMGARTNER'S REPORT
Councilman Baumgartner said the Park and Recreation Commisssion would be
meeting Thursday at 8:00 p.m.
COUNCILMAN SHELQUIST'S REPORT
Councilman Shelquist said he attended the Rice Creek Watershed Water Resourse
Board hearing on their overall plan. The map was unreadable. Ramsey County
court records on the ditch are not in good shape and are hard to obtain.
Councilman Shelquist said Jeffrey Goetz's used car lot had been asked to
screen their lot from residential property across the streetand a green strip
was to be installed. It will be necessary to force them to complete these areas
to keep our credibility.
ENGINEER BEARDEN'S REPORT
Engineer Bearden reported on preliminary study on Filter Plant #1 modification.
MSP (Shelquist- Johnson) to acknowledge receipt of the 1975 preliminary study
of Plant #1 modification prepared by Comstock & Davis and that a copy be
submitted to MTCA for their study and recommendation.
Engineer Bearden reported on seal coating 1975.
3 Ayes
MSP (Johnson - Shelquist) to authorize the Engineer to prepare final plans and
specifications for 1975 seal coating. 3 Ayes
Engineer Bearden reported that part of the Herbst property did not have an
area for water to get away.
MSP (Johnson - Shelquist) to adjourn at 2:57 a.m.
Respectfully submitted
Mark chen
Clerk - Administrator
