Page 8 <br />September 8, 1975 <br />Vote taken on main motion as amended. 4 Ayes <br />Administrator Achen presented the bills for approval. <br />MSP (Hodges- Baumgartner) to accept the bills, General Fund checks #11051 <br />through #11115, Payroll Acct. checks #1198 through #1199, Payroll checks <br />#2219 through #2252, Transfer check #11113 transferring from General <br />$21,466,86, Water $3,081.68, Sewer, $16,205.30 to Payroll to pay gross <br />pay of 9/15/75. Total disbursements $117,219.81. <br />MSP (Johnson - Shelquist) to accept the licenses, General Contracting - <br />Sanders Concrete Contracting Co., The Rottlund Company, Inc., Masonry - <br />Dennis Golla Const.; Sign Installation - Nordquist Sign Co. Inc.; Heating <br />& A/C - Advanced Heating and A /C, Denny's Plumbing, Boehm Heating Co., <br />Gas Installer - Denny's Mobilehome Service Blacktop - Buck's Blacktop, <br />Kennell - Sham -O -Jet Kennels; Solicitor - Children's Theatre, waiving the <br />fee for the Children's Theatre. <br />Mayor Johnson acknowledged receipt of the Police Report for August. <br />Mayor Johnson announced he would be attending a meeting tomorrow at noon. <br />Subject: joint bargaining for police contract. All municipal mayors and <br />city managers are gathering to discuss doing away with joint bargaining. <br />COUNCILMAN BAUMGARTNER'S REPORT <br />Councilman Baumgartner reported the Park and Recreation Commission <br />met on August 28, 1975 and is beginning work on a five year capital <br />improvement plan and priority development. A meeting will be held <br />September 11, 1975 to further discuss the capital improvment program. <br />School pool management program has been officially approved by the <br />school board. <br />Councilman Baumgartner asked Mayor Johnson to solicit for volunteers <br />to form a committee to prepare a trail systems plan and ask that those <br />interested contact the City office. <br />Mayor Johnson asked an article be written inviting anyone interested <br />in serving on trails committee to send their names to the attention of <br />the City Council so it may be referred to the Park & Recreation Commission. <br />Councilman Baumgartner reported that he attended a meeting last week <br />at the Ramsey County Sheriff's office regarding establishing trains for bikes, <br />snowmobile, jogging etc., with emphasis on a uniform snowmobile ordinance <br />within the County. Councilman Baumgartner is to be on the ordinance writing <br />committee. County and D NR funds are available for the trail systems. <br />Funds for patrolling, grooming, etc., and in order to get funds you <br />must have a committee. <br />Councilman Baumgartner said both he and the Park Director received calls <br />from citizens commenting on the new playground equipment at Hillview Park. <br />The residents were pleased with the new aluipment, However, the speed limit <br />on Long Lake Road at 40 MPH poses a potential hazard with the number <br />of children who frequent the playground. It was suggested a four way <br />stop sign be installed at the corner of Long Lake Road and Hillview Road. <br />4 Ayes <br />4 Ayes <br />
