Page 8 <br />October 14, 1975 <br />Mayor Johnson presented the proposal of the emergency entrance to Mounds <br />View Mobile Home Park. <br />Engineer Comstock said a meeting was held between Mr. Aldon Johnson, owner <br />of the Park, Administrator Achen and Engineer Bearden on Spetember 24th to <br />discuss the emergency exit followed up by communications on October 2nd <br />The proposal was checked with the fire and police chiefs and they were <br />satisfied with the proposed drive construction. The fire department was <br />concerned, however, that snow be removed from the area around the gate. <br />Administrator Achen added that the engineering costs should be included <br />in this project. <br />MS (Shelquist- Hodges) to ask that the engineer be directed to amend the <br />plans and specifications for the emergency access to the mobile home park <br />and to get together with Mr. Johnson about the requirements and have his <br />engineer provide plans for Council's review. <br />Councilman Hodges withdrew his second. <br />MSP ( Shelquist- Hodges) to direct the city engineer to see that plans and <br />specifications are drawn up to be available at the Council meeting October <br />27th to be reviewed by Council. <br />Mr. Grone, 8407 Spring Lake Road, asked about NSP's procedures and charges <br />for installing gas service to the new streets. <br />Mr. Foss said he talked to NSP and so far there was only one request and <br />they will not bring in gas until neighboring lots pay a deposit. Persons <br />in the middle of the block cannot develop until everyone down the line <br />does. He said NSP will refund money on deposits if gas service is hooked <br />up within two years. <br />5 Ayes <br />Engineer Comstock said concerned citizens should contact the Public Service <br />Commission which regulates the power and gas companies. <br />Mayor Johnson directed the city engineer and administrator to look into this <br />matter. <br />Mayor Johnson presented the proposed drainage improvement to Mounds View <br />Square Shopping Center <br />Engineer Comstock reported the plans from the Highway department state <br />work to be done by Paster is to lower the culvert under the shopping center <br />driveway and ditch construction on ditches from Long Lake Road to County Road I. <br />The State highway department is to lower the culvert under Long Lake Road <br />and the Phillip 66 service station and to do ditch work from Long Lake Road <br />to the southeast. The City of Mounds View is to do surface restoration of the <br />Phillip 66 service station ingress and egrees and Long Lake Road. <br />Engineer Comstock said it was Engineer Bearden's recommendation that the <br />City approve this offer if Ramsey County can convey their drainage to the <br />ditch as proposed. <br />Administrator Achen said the dollar amount is limited as to what the City <br />can spend on these projects. <br />
