Administrator's Report <br />-2- Jan. 23, 1976 <br />ITEM 13. Proposed new public health housing code is being presented <br />just to give public indication of Council's intent to <br />license apartments. No action is necessary. Staff memo <br />will be prepared to explain purpose. Next agenda session <br />will deal with it. <br />ITEM 14. Staff recommends approval; no adverse information on any <br />license applicants. Recommend fee be waived for Red <br />Oak PTO's bingo (one night) request. <br />ITEM 15. Administrator's report: <br />a. County reviewed second request for Long Lake /Hillview <br />stop and rejected. <br />b. Applications received from two people for commission <br />vacancies. Both enclosed. <br />c. Carol Waide requests sick leave advance of nine days. <br />Recommend approval under conditions of new ordinance. <br />d. Petition received from Pleasant View Drive residents <br />in opposition to proposed street /drainage improvement. <br />Recommend Council direct staff to notify Fridley that <br />City is not presently interested in the project and <br />that storm drainage study is underway to evaluate needs <br />e. State law now allows municipalities to deposit and earn <br />interest in passbook savings accounts. Current short <br />term (10 -90 days) government security yields are below <br />bank savings yield (50). Recommend Council authorize <br />staff to deposit idle funds in savings account with <br />First State Bank. of New Brighton whenever such will <br />produce a greater yield on idle cash and that any such <br />monies so deposited be protected by adequate pledge <br />of government securities by the Bank. <br />f. Safety Committee requests Council approval to expand <br />voting membership to include an employee from both <br />maintenance and police (presently just one). <br />
