Administrator's Report <br />January 30, 1976 <br />1. Agenda session - Monday, February 2, 1976 <br />ITEM 1. 7:00 p.m. public hearing on community development <br />needs and objectives. Council should adopt a list <br />of needs and select therefrom those for which <br />CDBG funding will be sought. <br />ITEM 2. Tim Smith will discuss the Northwest Suburban Youth <br />Service Bureau and the enclosed grant application. <br />ITEM 3. 8:30 p.m. interview with Schonhardt. <br />ITEM 4. Proposed revision of Chapter 93. Memo enclosed. <br />2. Police activity report regarding on -sale liquor establishments <br />may be ready in time for agenda meeting. <br />3. Local 49 may legally strike beginning Saturday, February 7. <br />Ramsey County maintenance employees, who are also 49'ers but <br />who have settled already, will continue to provide plowing/ <br />sanding services. The staff has established service priorities <br />in the event of a strike. A public works emergency service <br />plan which lists those priorities is enclosed. <br />4. Majority of police have asked that the department change to <br />blue uniforms, because most other departments wear blue. They <br />have volunteered to pay the cost entirely out of their clothing <br />allowance so that the City will bear no expense. Ernie has <br />no strong feelings on the matter but feels that the timing <br />is not proper. With the controversy over the 1975 arbitration <br />award and the increase of on -sale liquor license fees, the <br />change might provoke some criticism. I agree with this. <br />However, a decision should be made whether to change or not <br />at a later date. <br />5. Lakeside Park's Silver Skate competition begins at 2:00 p.m. <br />Sunday, February 1. <br />6. Mounds View's Snow Days begins at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February <br />1 with the "Adult Superstars" competition at Wayside Park, <br />City Hall. <br />
