Approve the December 13, 1976 bills for payment. <br />Item c. was then discussed. Mayor Pickar asked why we would need a <br />350 cubic inch V8 and if we could get by with a smaller V8. <br />Engineer Hubbard explained that this truck will be used by the Water <br />Department and he would have to check this out with Larry. The truck <br />will be used for hydrant repair, flushing and inspection of construction. <br />The truck would be used to pull the hydrant pumper. <br />Mayor Pickar asked why a chrome front bumper is being asked for. <br />Engineer Hubbard stated that a chrome bumper wouldn't rust out. <br />Councilmember Baumgartner questioned the need for a 50 amp alternator. <br />Engineer Hubbard stated again that he would have to check with the <br />Water Department. <br />MSP (Pickar-Baumgartner) to approve the specifications for the 11 ton <br />pick-up as presented, however that the Administrator check into the <br />possibility of reducing the specifications to a smaller V8 and the <br />possibility of getting by without the heavy duty alternator. <br />PRESENTATION ON ASSOCIATION OF METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITIES MEMBERSHIP <br />BY VERN PETERSON, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR <br />5 ayes <br />Mr. Vern Peterson introduced Roger Peterson who is the Director of <br />Legislative Affairs and the Mayor of Cottage Grove. Mr. Vern Peterson <br />then presented a slide presentation to the Council which outlined what <br />the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities does for its members. <br />
