PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A regular meeting of the Mounds View City Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Pickar at 7:30 PM on January 9, 1978 at the Mounds View City Hall, 2401 <br />Highway 10, Mounds View, Minnesota 55112. <br />Members Present: Also Present: <br />Councilmember Hodges Clerk- Administrator Achen <br />Councilmember Rowley . Attorney Meyers <br />Councilmember Ziebarth Engineer Hubbard <br />Mayor Pickar <br />Councilmember Baumgartner was noted as absent due to illness. <br />MSP (Rowley - Hodges) to approve the minutes of the December 19, 1977 meeting <br />as presented. <br />4 ayes <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS AND REQUESTS <br />Charlotte Fields, 2255 Lambert presented the Council with a petition of 300 signa- <br />tures requesting a revision to the truck parking ordinance, and explained that <br />she and the others who had signed the petition would like the City to revise the <br />ordinance to allow privately owned trucks to be parked in the City. <br />duel Wold, 2616 Hillview Road stated that he had just spent $25 and lost a days <br />wages as he was not able to get his truck started since he hadn't been able to <br />plug it in at home. He also stated that not everyone was receiving citations for <br />their trucks. <br />Mayor Pickar replied that he had talked to the Police Chief, who stated that the <br />City was being patrolled and citations issued to violators but that it was possible <br />that not all trucks were parked when the patrols were made, and thus would not have <br />received a citation yet. <br />Jim Allen, 7943 Greenfield stated that he believed the ordinance should be reworded <br />to include privately owned trucks and asked if any action would be taken on the <br />ordinance. <br />Mayor Pickar replied that if the Council members wished to, the issue could be dis- <br />cussed again, and that notice would be published as to when it would be discussed. <br />Mayor Pickar accepted a petition from the Mounds View Lions Club, requesting Council <br />approval of a resolution designating February 4 as Sight Preservation Day. Chuck <br />Averbeck, President of the Lions Club, explained that a clinic would be held at <br />Apache Plaza shopping center on February 4 to test for glaucoma. <br />MSP ( Pickar- Hodges) to pass Resolution #884 designating February 4, 1978 as Sight <br />Preservation Day. 4 ayes <br />
