CONSENT AGENDA <br />January 23, 1978 <br />The consent agenda is a technique designed to expedite handling <br />of routine and miscellaneous official business of the City Council. <br />The entire agenda may be adopted by the Council in one motion. <br />The motion for adoption is non - debatable and must receive unanimous <br />approval. By request of any individual Council member, any item <br />can be removed from the consent agenda and placed upon the regular <br />agenda for debate. <br />ITEM A. Authorize mayor and clerk to execute the Section 8 Housing <br />Assistance Payments Program contract with the Metropolitan <br />Council. This contract extends the existing contract, <br />which expired May 31, 1977, until October 5, 1982. <br />Presently twenty -three Mounds View residents are receiving <br />rental assistance under this Program. <br />ITEM B. Adopt Resolution Nos. 885 and 886 appointing the Commissioner <br />of Transportation as the city's agent and authorizing <br />the mayor and clerk to execute a technical and engineering <br />assistance agreement with the Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation. These Council actions are taken annually <br />to continue city participation in the Municipal State Aid <br />(M.S.A.) program for designated city streets. <br />ITEM C. Set a public hearing for 7:40 PM, Monday, February 27, 1978, <br />on the Gale Addition preliminary plat for the development <br />of five single family dwellings. <br />ITEM D. Adopt Resolution No. 887 requesting that the League of <br />Minnesota Cities award two bocce ball sets to the city as <br />part of the Governor's program to make this sport <br />available to all Minnesotans. <br />ITEMM E. Appoint Councilmembers Baumgartner and Rowley as the <br />city's official delegates and Administrator Achen as the <br />alternate delegate to the Ramsey County League of Local <br />Governments. Appoint Councilmembers Pickar and Baumgartner <br />as the city's official delegate and alternate, respectively, <br />to the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities. <br />ITEM F. Appoint Margaret A. Long, senior accounting clerk, as a <br />regular full -time employee having successfully completed <br />the required probationary period. <br />ITEM G. Approve the January 23, 1978, bills for payment. <br />ITEM I. Set special City Council meetings for 7:00 PM, Monday, <br />January 30, 1978, and 7:30 PM, Tuesday, February 14, 1978. <br />The former will be a general agenda session. The latter <br />will be a meeting of Council, staff, engineering, legal <br />and fiscal consultants to prepare for the storm sewer <br />improvement hearing. <br />
