April 10, 1978 Page 11 <br />Attorney Meyers also reported that he had been reviewing the expenses incurred in <br />prosecuting housing code violations. He reported that there was a case recently <br />in which the defendent was found guilty of 46 counts of housing volations. He <br />added that the case had been started the previous May and had taken 11 months to <br />complete. Attorney Meyers stated that he wished to thank Building and Zoning Official <br />Rose and Lauren Maker, former Housing Inspector, for their excellent assistance in <br />putting together the case. <br />Attorney Meyers reported that the defendent had been fined $4800 and 160 days in jail <br />if his building was not brought up to code within 90 days. He added that the defendent <br />had already paid $1200 in previous fines and served 30 days in jail, and that the City <br />would receive 50 percent of the fine if the defendent paid it. <br />COUNCILMEMBER ZIEBARTH'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Ziebarth reported that the Task Force had met last Thursday and was <br />intending to meet every Thursday until they came up with some recommendations. <br />He added that he would be attending the meetings, which would last from 7:00 to <br />9:00 PM. <br />COUNCILMEMBER HODGES' REPORT <br />Councilmember Hodges reported that he was getting the Boy Scouts lined up for Clean - <br />Up Day and that he would be contacting the Snowmobile Club regarding pick -up of <br />refuse. <br />COUNCILMEMBER BAUMGARTNER'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Baumgartner reported that there would be a Planning Commission meeting <br />at 7:30 PM on April 12. <br />COUNCILMEMBER ROWLEY'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Rowley reported that the Lakeside Park meeting would be at 7:30 PM on <br />April 13 at the Spring Lake Park City Hall. <br />MAYOR PICKAR'S REPORT <br />Mayor Pickar reported that he was turning the original charter for incorporation for <br />the City of Mounds View over to the City Administrator to incorporate into the City <br />files. <br />Mayor Pickar asked what the status was of the maps of the City that were being printed. <br />Administrator Achen replied that they had not been received yet. <br />Mayor Pickar stated that he had picked up picture frames to be used at the Appreciation <br />Dinner and that he would be submitting a voucher for reimbursement. <br />
