CONSENT AGENDA <br />June 26, 1978 <br />The consent agenda is a technique designed to expedite handling of <br />routine and miscellaneous official business of the City Council. The <br />entire agenda may be adopted by the Council in one motion. The motion <br />for adoption is non - debatable and must receive unanimous approval. By <br />request of any individual Council Member, any item can be removed from <br />the consent agenda and placed upon the regular agenda for debate. <br />ITEM A. Approve specifications for Project 1978 -7, Seal Coating, and <br />authorize advertisement for bids to be opened at 10:00 AM <br />July 17, 1978. This Project includes seal coating of city <br />streets north of Trunk Highway 10 and west of Long Lake Road, <br />except new streets constructed under Project 1973 -4, and <br />city streets south of Trunk Highway 10 and west of Silver Lake Rd. <br />ITEM B. Set public hearing for 7:40 PM, Monday, July 10, 1978, on <br />Improvement Project 1978 -4, Mounds View Industrial Park No. 2. <br />ITEM C. Approve, as recommended by the Planning Commission (6/14/78 <br />minutes), the minor subdivision of James Staples to create two <br />lots from property located at 7710 Woodlawn Drive. The existing <br />parcel shall be divided into two lots, the south lot being 90.77 <br />feet x 296.74 feet and the north lot 85 feet on the west line, <br />85.4 feet on the east line and 296.74 feet deep. A five foot <br />easement shall be required on the rear line of both lots. <br />ITEM D. Approve, as recommended by the Planning Commission (6/14/78 <br />minutes), the minor subdivision of John C. Weinand to create <br />two lots from property located at 8394 Spring Lake Road. The <br />east lot fronting Spring Lake Road shall be 110 feet wide x 234 <br />feet deep; the west lot fronting Pleasant View Drive shall be <br />80.72 feet on the western most line, 103.68 feet deep on the <br />north line to a point where it extends north 30 feet and then <br />west 66 feet, 110 feet on the east line and 159 feet on the <br />south line. A variance of 4.28 feet shall be granted for the <br />substandard frontage on Pleasant View Drive. The reasons for <br />granting this variance are that the city approved this in concept <br />when it approved the Rosenquist Addition and that the property <br />has a sanitary sewer service stub for which it has been assessed. <br />ITEM E. Confirm appointment by the Clerk - Administrator of Eva Melhouse <br />as deputy clerk and Donald Brager as deputy treasurer. <br />ITEM F. Authorize payment to Public Works Superintendent Larry Decheine <br />for four weeks of unused vacation leave earned in 1974 and 1975. <br />Payment shall be made in two installments: in fiscal year 1978 <br />two weeks at the employee's 1974 salary rate and in fiscal year <br />1979 two weeks at his 1975 salary rate. The employee's vacation <br />leave balance shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 6.24 of <br />the Municipal Code effective upon his employment anniversary <br />date in 1978. The City Administrator is directed to assure that <br />all employees' vacation leave balances comply with the terms of <br />Chapter 6.24 limiting carry -over accumulation to ten days. <br />
