November 13, 1978 Page 8 <br />MSP (Baumgartner - Ziebarth) to accept the bid for a jet rodder without trade from <br />Itasca Equipment Company of $75,513 plus the purchase of a water recirculating system <br />for $500 and hose winding guide for $270, for a total of $76,283. The alternate low <br />bid of Wisota Sales was not accepted because it did not satisfy the requirements of <br />the specification. The report to the Clerk- Administrator from the Finance Director <br />and Public Works Supervisor, dated November 13, 1978 regarding the bids for the <br />sewer jet rodder will be made part of the minutes. 5 ayes <br />ADMINISTRATOR ACHEN'S REPORT <br />Administrator Achen reported that the City has received the drainage study report <br />from Comstock and Davis on Ardan Avenue and anticipate receiving Short, Elliott and <br />Hendricksons report on Woodcrest by December 4. A future work session will be set <br />up to go over the two reports probably sometime in January. <br />ATTORNEY MEYERS' REPORT <br />Attorney Meyers reported that the lawsuit involving City Hall construction is currently <br />scheduled for January and that he had just heard from one of the attorneys involved, <br />who offered a $25,000 settlement to dispose of the case. He added that he has written <br />a report discussing the City's position in the case and that he will be forwarding <br />copies onto the Council. <br />COUNCILMEMBER ROWLEY'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Rowley had no report. <br />COUNCILMEMBER ZIEBARTH'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Ziebarth reported that he had requested information at the last meeting <br />from the Police Chief regarding the number of calls to the Mermaid Lounge and Bowling <br />Alley, and that he had received a reply from the Chief, which indicated that the <br />increase in time spent at the Mermaid reflects enforcement of the new loitering ordi- <br />nance. He added that the Chief had indicated it had not created any major problems <br />but had resulted in two arrests, and that the bowling alley is running smoothly. <br />Attorney Meyers stated that the new ordinance is an attempt to clear people out of the <br />parking lots after closing, and that the court has already found one person guilty of <br />violating the ordinance. <br />COUNCILMEMBER HODGES' REPORT <br />Councilmember Hodges stated that he had attended the League of Minnesota Cities meeting <br />and found it very interesting and informative. He added that he had brochures available <br />if anyone would like to look at them. <br />COUNCILMEMBER BAUMGARTNER'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Baumgartner had no report. <br />
