March 26, 1979 Page 6 <br />POLICY ON PERMITS FOR ROAD RESTRICTIONS <br />Council discussed present regulations which allows permits to be <br />issued to vehicles in excess of the posted road limits. Council <br />consensus was to leave the present regulations in effect, but <br />directed that fewer permits be issued and those to be issued <br />only for extreme reason. <br />REPORTS OF OFFICIALS <br />Councilmember Forslund had no report. <br />Councilmember Rowley reported that she had attended a meeting of <br />the City of Coon Rapids Council regarding the Anoka Airport issue. <br />The Coon Rapids City Council will prepare a resolution directed at <br />MAC concerning areas of study. <br />Councilmember Rowley suggested that perhaps the Council should <br />have a policy on recognizing the achievements of local individuals. <br />Council agreed that this could be a sensitive area and each <br />situation will be handled as it comes up. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth asked for clarification of the term "ex- officio <br />members" of the commissions. Mayor McCarty responded that the ex- officio <br />members would attend meetings and receive packets, but have no vote. <br />These members would be the next appointed when a vacancy occurs. <br />Councilmember Hodges had no report. <br />
