May 29, 1979 Page 7 <br />MSP (Ziebarth /Rowley) to approve Resolutions 985 and 986 with deletion of #4 (Park View <br />Terrace, Lots 7 & 8, Block 2; and contingent upon Staff's correction which would move <br />#1) Unplatted Lands (subj to hwy) Ex the N 320 ft, the E 1/2 of N 16 acres of E 1/2 of <br />NE 1/4 of Section 8 T30 R23, from "Approval for Sale" to "Acquired." 5 ayes <br />COUNCILMEMBER HODGES REPORT <br />Councilmember Hodges had no report. <br />COUNCILMEMBER FORSLUND'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Forslund reported that the Planning Commission meetings will move to the <br />first and third Wednesdays of the month. Their June 20 meeting will be a special joint <br />session with the Council for the purpose of interviewing professional planners. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth indicated that input should be obtained from the new City <br />Administrator before the June 20 meeting. <br />Councilmember Forslund further reviewed the actions of the May 23, 1979, Planning <br />Commission meeting. <br />Councilmember Forslund added that she had talked to the Principal of Red Oak School <br />regarding the traffic hazard to children using the crosswalk on Sunnyside Road. She <br />felt the Police Department should deal with it before the next Council meeting. <br />COUNCILMEMBER ROWLEY'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Rowley congratulated Acting Administrator Anderson for his job well done. <br />Councilmember Rowley reported that the Special Session Transportation Bill gives the <br />City a 2 -year "reprieve" regarding the airport issue. <br />Councilmember Rowley indicated the Lakeside Park Swimming Registration is coming up <br />June 6 and 7 and suggested it be announced on the sign board. <br />COUNCILMEMBER ZIEBARTH'S REPORT <br />Councilmember Ziebarth indicated he had observed the Jet Rodder in action and was <br />impressed. He noted that a big problem occurs when disposable diapers plug the pipes. <br />He suggested a notice be placed in the newsletter to make residents aware of this problem. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth stated there has been no Parks & Recreation meeting but will <br />be one shortly. <br />MAYOR McCARTY'S REPORT <br />Mayor McCarty stated congratulations and thanks on behalf of the Council to Bruce <br />Anderson for a job well done as Acting Administrator. <br />Mayor McCarty pointed out the telephone number for the Fire Department in the new <br />telephone books is incorrect. He suggested the correction be published in the <br />newsletter. <br />Mayor McCarty indicated Dr. Machmeier will soon be able to give his opinion regarding <br />a cost proposal to relieve existing drainage problems on Ardan Avenue. <br />
