June 25, 1979 Page 6 <br />ATTORNEY MEYERS REPORT <br />Attorney Meyers had no report. <br />MAYOR McCARTY'S REPORT <br />Mayor McCarty wanted to know if the MPCA was contacted regarding the race track that <br />was requested at the last Council meeting. Building & Zoning Official Rose stated <br />we had received a reply from them and he had sent them a schedule of speedway <br />events. Mayor McCarty stated we had received a letter from Herbst regarding cleanup <br />and wanted to know if we had responded. Acting City Administrator Anderson stated <br />he had not seen the letter, but would do so. <br />Nancy Burmiester, Planning Commission member, stated Jerry Foss had resigned at <br />the last meeting. Upon written notification, the Council will appoint Peg Mountain <br />to fill the vacancy. <br />ACTING ADMINISTRATOR ANDERSON'S REPORT <br />Acting City Administrator Anderson stated there were two licenses for approval that <br />were not on the agenda as they were received late. (1) Best Steak House and <br />(2) Dalan Builders. <br />MSP (Hodges /Ziebarth) to approve the two licenses. <br />Acting City Administrator Anderson stated that the Mounds View area was severely <br />hit by the Tuesday, June 19, storm. Approximately 600 trees were lost, the Sands <br />Apartment building was severely hit, a mobile home was knocked from its foundation <br />in Colonial Trailer Court, an empty trailer was knocked down next to Fedor's and <br />we lost a couple of telephone poles. Some citizens were concerned about removal of <br />branches. <br />5 ayes <br />Acting City Administrator Anderson stated he had met with Kraus - Anderson regarding <br />the Silver View Park project and will get specific direction from the Council as <br />to how they want to proceed. This will be on the July 9 agenda. Acting Administrator <br />Anderson also stated the puppet wagon would be on the road on Tuesday, June 26, <br />at 9:00 a.m. and that formal flower gardens were being planted in the front of <br />City Hall. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth officially thanked Bruce Anderson again for the fine job <br />done. <br />MSP (McCarty /Rowley) to adjourn the meeting at 9:45 p.m. <br />Res pectful1 <br />Bruce K.
