Residents will be in the next <br />agenda session; Nelson will have information <br />by then. <br />Nelson handed out, for Council review and <br />comment, the bonded debt study recently done. <br />He indicated Chenoweth might be willing to <br />attend an agenda session. <br />Nelson stated Springstead & Assoc. might be <br />of interest re: tax increment financing. <br />Councilmembers might be interested in reviewing. <br />Re: Disbursements & License Renewals -- Could <br />not be placed on the agenda due to a computer <br />problem. <br />Forslund made the motion, seconded by Ziebarth, <br />to approve the bills for payment, including <br />contractors' licenses. 5 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Nelson handed out material from Dr. Machmeier <br />which generally advised continuing the storm <br />sewer cleaning. <br />Nelson stated he had received a memo from Decheine <br />that streets had been swept. Contractors doing <br />seal coating will sweep after they finish. He <br />stated next week storm sewer cleaning will start <br />between Ardan Ave. & Ardan Park. Last week <br />9,000,000 gallons of water were pumped. <br />Nelson stated that New Brighton has inquired <br />as to the City's interest in cable TV. Council <br />members requested he obtain more details. <br />Re: Receptionist/Switchboard Operator--the need <br />to fill this position is becoming greater and <br />will add to overall office efficiency. The <br />telephone system was also discussed. Staff <br />was requested to check out how the code-a-phone <br />works. <br />Forslund made the motion, seconded by Hodges, <br />to authorize the Administrator to hire a person <br />to fill the receptionist/switchboard operator <br />position at a starting salary not to exceed $4.00 <br />per hour and $4,25 after 6 months.
