No comment was heard. <br />Nelson explained that in the past, the City has <br />used these funds for capital items. Notation <br />will be made in the New Brighton Bulletin that <br />inputs are solicited from the public as to the <br />revenue sharing up to Sept. 24. <br />The Mayor closed the Public Hearing and reopened <br />the regular meeting. <br />Nelson notified Council he had received a call <br />from Geo. Halverson asking to appear at the <br />Sept. 10 Council meeting. <br />Nelson read a letter from Pinewood PTO requesting <br />a flashing traffic light for crosswalk at Quincy <br />St. He stated that request had been sent to Police <br />and Public Works Depts. Ziebarth directed Staff <br />to contact the school district. <br />Nelson explained that New Brighton has asked if <br />Mounds View is interested in investigating a <br />cable TV franchise. Could possibly issue a <br />joint power franchise from the district. It <br />could be a boost for dissemination of public <br />information. <br />Forslund made the motion, seconded by Ziebarth, <br />to adopt Resolution 1020 to establish an advisory <br />body to investigate cable TV. <br />5 ayes <br />0 nays <br />This item will be in the New Brighton Bulletin. <br />Nelson pointed out we need authorization for <br />representation by Metropolitan Area Management <br />Association in joint negotiations for a contract <br />beginning January 1980. <br />McCarty made the motion, seconded by Ziebarth, <br />to authorize M.A.M.A. 49 negotiating committee <br />to negotiate for Mounds View. <br />5 ayes <br />0 nays <br />5.
