MOUNDS VIEW CITY HALL Regular Meeting <br />Page 2 October 9, 1979 <br />Forslund: 1) Announced that the first Comp. 6. REPORTS OF COUNCIL - <br />Plan meeting will be Oct. 24 at 7:00 PM. MEMBERS /ADMINISTRATOR <br />2) Stated that she and the City Administrator <br />will be attending the Urban Soil Errosion & <br />Sediment Control conference for the next <br />three days. <br />Hodges: Stated he had attended the Firemen's <br />Relief Association meeting. They will be <br />updating their by -laws; Hodges will keep <br />the Council informed. <br />Ziebarth: Re: setting up a meeting with MnDOT <br />on the Hwy. 10 north alternate- -have not gotten <br />a firm date as yet, although it looks like Nov. 7 <br />may be a possible date. City Administrator will <br />firm up with those concerned. <br />Nelson: 1) Has sent Council a memo re: the <br />Police Department vacancy. Civil Service <br />is ready to start screening applicants; <br />therefore formal approval from Council is <br />needed to advertise to fill the vacancy. <br />The funds are covered, as it was budgeted. <br />Ziebarth made the motion, seconded by Forslund, <br />to authorize Chief Grabowski to begin the <br />selection process for the Patrolman position <br />vacancy in the Police Department. <br />4 ayes <br />0 nays <br />2) Re- keying City Hall: Control needs to be <br />regained with a better key policy, i.e., <br />restricting number of keys handed out to <br />a minimum, and making sure keys are returned. <br />McCarty made the motion, seconded by Ziebarth, <br />to authorize the City Administrator to proceed <br />with the final recommendation for re- keying <br />City Hall, found in the fifth paragraph of <br />his memo dated 10/5/79: <br />...recommend purchase of 5 restricted <br />key way cylinders for exterior doors <br />only at a cost of $160, plus new cylinders <br />for interior doors at a cost of $179, <br />and also 2 security gates for basement <br />stairwells at a cost of $200. Total <br />cost would be $539 plus 95fi for each <br />key needed...." <br />for a total cost of $550.00. <br />4 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Police Dept. Vacancy <br />Re- Keying City Hall <br />
