MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL Special Meeting
Page 2 November 8, 1979
The Council asked the chairman of the
barter Commission if a Special Session
auld be called to make suggested changes
In the Charter language. Mr. Doty, the
Charter Commission Chairman, stated that
he felt that there was no real need to amend
the Charter at this time. When pressed by
Councilmember Ziebarth on whether a Special
Session would be called, Mr. Doty responded
that he would not call a Special Session for
the suggested modification.
Councilmember Ziebarth raised the issue about
the printing of the City's Charter and it's
distribution to the public. Mr. Ziebarth
was concerned that the public would need and
should be assured of receiving copies of the
proposed Charter. Further, since the Charter
Commission had not taken upon itself to print
and distribute the proposed Charter that the
City Council should. Ziebarth moved that the
City Council absorb the cost of the printing
of the proposed Charter and take it upon it-
self to distribute to the public through the
mail, a draft of the Charter. Further, that
the City fund this activity through the use
)f the contingency fund. Rowley seconded the
.notion.
4 ayes
0 nays
Mayor called for any further business of
the City Council. The City Administrator
noted to the Council that all of the Election
Judges had been acquired, as well as, neces-
sary alternates.
There being no further business, Rowley moved
to adjourn the Special Session of the City
Council of November 8, 1979, and it was
seconded by Ziebarth.
4 ayes
0 nays
The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
5. ADJOURNMENT
Respectfully submitted,
JeffiIey W. Nelson
City Administrator
