MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL <br />Page 9 <br />Regular Meeting <br />November 13, 1979 <br />Rowley moved, seconded by McCarty, to award <br />the contract to United Asphalt, not to <br />exceed $3,225 to repair County Rd. I. <br />5 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Staff was directed to draw up an appropriate <br />resolution. <br />Rowley requested a discussion at an agenda <br />session detailing the procedures taken in <br />the event of such a utility problem. <br />2) Preparation for upcoming election was <br />discussed. Meyers cautioned that Staff <br />should make sure procedures will be followed <br />according to statutes, i.e., publishing <br />election judges names,drawing up a formal <br />ratifying resolution, etc. <br />3) Re: two promotions of Police personnel -- <br />Ziebarth moved, seconded by Forslund, to make <br />two promotions for David Brick (11/1/79) and J. <br />Silek (11/5/79) to positions of corporal, <br />and recommend they be paid at the corporal <br />rate for the entire month of November. <br />5 ayes <br />0 nays <br />4) Re:Council meeting scheduled for December 24: <br />Ziebarth moved, seconded by Rowley, to cancel <br />the Christmas Eve Council meeting. <br />5 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Rowley directed Staff to check into what <br />has been done in the past regarding keeping <br />City Hall open on Christmas Eve day and New <br />Year's Eve day, and how this would affect <br />union employees, i.e., granting another <br />day off. <br />No report. <br />8.
