MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL
Page 3
Regular Meeting
February 25, 1980
Councilman Hodges reported that he
would be attending a meeting on Feb.
28th for the Youth Service Bureau
to review funding levels for 1980
and beyond.
Mayor McCarty brought it to the at-
tention of City Council that he
desired the appointment of a com-
mittee on Land Use Development
which would assist the Planning
Commission on various tasks.
Council thought that this would be a
good discussion item for March 3rd
and were generally not in opposition
to the proposal.
Mayor asked the question as to the
status of a proposed logo for the
community in opposition to the up-
grading of the Anoka County Airport.
Councilman Ziebarth responded that
to his knowledge there was no action
being taken. However, did state that
he felt there was a need to develop
a better base for the opposition in
this community as well as some other
neighboring communities on that issue.
Mayor McCarty asked the status of the
requested street light in the Green-
field area as to whether or not the
exact location had been selected.
Nelson responded that he did not
believe that that had occured at
this time. Mayor then was desirous
of having a date set by which that
request would be met by the neighbor-
hood or the street light would go to
another neighborhood on H2.
Mayor requested that resolution be
prepared congratulating the U.S.
Olympic Team, Hockey Team, for winning
its gold medal and that the resolution
would be sent to the coach of the U.S.
Team, Mr. Brooks. Furthermore, some
recognition should be placed on the
City's Sign Board.
6. COUNCILMAN HODGES REPORT
7. MAYOR McCARTY
