MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL Regular Meeting <br />Page 6 <br />April 14, 1980 <br />Nelson reported that Metropolitan Transit <br />is applying for federal urban funding and <br />looking at an additional site in Moundsview <br />(35W /Hwy. 10) for a "Park and Ride" area <br />where people could park cars and take the <br />bus. The Council responded .favorably to this <br />proposal. <br />Councilmember Rowley reported that the <br />"garbage bill" looks like it will be vetoed <br />by the governor. <br />Rowley made a motion, seconded by Ziebarth <br />to discuss this at a special meeting at <br />6:30 P.M. -7:00 P.M., April 21st. <br />The motion was carried. <br />5 - ayes <br />0 - nays <br />Councilmember Rowley asked to have the <br />parking lot timer checked as it didn't <br />always have light when it got dark in the lot. <br />Councilmember Forslund had no reports. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth expressed a thought <br />that Bob Ehlers should be at the meeting <br />with Wolfe and Associates on May 4th. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth also noted information <br />on the parks meetings. Two had already been <br />held and two more were coming up on April 17 <br />and April 19. He stressed the importance of <br />the public having input at this time. <br />Councilmember Hodges distributed copies of a <br />flier for the clean -up day scheduled for April 26. <br />A $10.00 charge for a pick of a load was <br />generally approved, with a pro -rated price <br />for smaller loads. <br />20. METROPOLITAN TRANSIT PARKING RIGHT <br />FACILITY <br />21. COUNCIL REPORTS <br />The Mayor read the proclamation for Clean -up <br />Day: <br />"WHEREAS, we are all aware that sight pollution <br />is detrimental to our way of living; and <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Mounds <br />View enjoy a good standard of living; and <br />WHEREAS, the Governor of Minnesota has <br />proclaimed Minnesota Environmental Week the week of <br />April 20 -26th; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, THAT I, Duane W. <br />McCarty, Mayor of the City of Mounds View do hereby <br />proclaim April 26th as Clean -up Day in Mounds View." <br />
