MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL Regular Meeting <br />Page Three April 28, 1980 <br />Ziebarth made a motion that Council accept the <br />items on the consent agenda with the Mayor noting <br />for the public's attention that Item C stated <br />the Bayport Acres preliminary plat application <br />continued public hearing is set for 8:00 P.M. on <br />May 12, 1980. Rowley seconded the motion. <br />The motion carried. <br />4 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Administrator Nelson referred the Council to <br />the memo from the Finance Director of the City <br />indicating the quotations from the insurance <br />agencies. He noted these proposals were not <br />actively solicited by the City. He also noted <br />that since the memo had been written, the <br />Finance Director had requested that Council <br />consider obtaining the public officials liability <br />portion from the Donohue - Thornton Agency and the <br />remainder of the coverage from the Transcontinental <br />Brokers. He felt this would allow a good cross <br />reference of information for the coming year as <br />well as not require additional expense for the <br />entire coverage. A discussion followed. <br />Mayor made a motion that the City's insurance <br />policy be placed with Transcontinental Brokers <br />for all coverage. Hodges seconded the motion. <br />The motion carried. <br />4 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Bruce Anderson informed the Council that out <br />of 12 applicants, Janice Wiehle was felt to be <br />the ideal candidate. She would be available <br />to start May 14th and she also requested some <br />time off (without pay) during the summer. <br />Rowley made a motion that Janice Wiehle be <br />hired for the position of administrator's <br />secretary at $5.85 /hour beginning May 14th. <br />Ziebarth seconded the motion. <br />The motion carried. <br />4 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Rowley made a motion that Janice Wiehle be <br />guaranteed one week without pay during the <br />coming summer months and that she be allowed <br />to take the Monday after the Fourth of July <br />weekend off (without pay) per her request. <br />Hodges seconded the motion. <br />The motion carried. <br />4 ayes <br />0 nays <br />10.
