MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL Regular Meeting <br />Page Five April 28, 1980 <br />17. COUNCIL REPORTS <br />Councilmember Ziebarth noted that at the IBA <br />meeting, Bruce Anderson had made some complimentary <br />remarks regarding the positive interchange between <br />the City and the school district, IBA,in particular. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth noted Jeff Nelson's contri- <br />butions and helpful assistance as Clerk- Administrator <br />to the City and the Council. The Council wished him <br />well in his future endeavors. <br />Councilmember Hodges noted that he had attended the <br />Youth Service Bureau meeting on April 24th. They <br />were working on some funding from United Way as well <br />as reviewing their goals and purposes. <br />Councilmember Hodges received a copy of the new bill <br />MN Statutes Chap. #201 from the Fireman Relief Associa- <br />tion and referred this to Attorney Meyers for review. <br />Councilmember Hodges noted a good turnout for Clean -Up <br />Day on April 26. (Mayor McCarty thanked Councilmember <br />Hodges at this time for taking over some of his respon- <br />sibilities in this function. The Mayor was unable to <br />participate more this year because of other commitments.) <br />Councilmember Rowley asked when street sweeping was <br />going to begin. Administrator Nelson reported that it <br />was starting this week. <br />Rowley made a motion to allow the public works superin- <br />tendent to lift the weight restrictions on the city streets, <br />effective today, April 28, 1980. Ziebarth seconded the <br />motion. <br />The motion carried. <br />4 ayes <br />0 nays <br />Councilmember Rowley noted that two places at. the League <br />of Minnesota City Conferences (the second week in June) had <br />been budgeted for by the City. She requested attendance at <br />this meeting. <br />Councilmember Rowley noted that TRA had suspended their master <br />airport plan because of legislation H.F. 2476 that ended the <br />funding for the upgrading of the airport. <br />Mayor McCarty made a motion to appoint Ed LeTendre, 2088 <br />Rustad Lane, as Festivities Commissioner.
