MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL Regular Meeting <br />August 11, 1980 <br />Page 3 <br />Forslund made a motion, seconded by Hodges <br />to adopt Resolution 1135 (resolution outlining <br />Mounds View's status with the International <br />City Management Association-ICMA) as presented <br />tonight, August llth, and to dispense with the <br />reading. <br />Ayes-4 <br />Nays-0 <br />MOTION CARRIES. <br />Mayor McCarty read the resolution. <br />MOTION: Ziebarth made a motion, seconded by <br />Hodges, to approve Resolution #1141 (a resolution <br />requesting to reviewing governmental agencies <br />regarding proposed lake by M & E Realty Company <br />and Kraus-Anderson, Incorporated). <br />Ayes-4 <br />Nay s-0 <br />MOTION CARRIES. <br />The regular meeting closed at 8:04 P.M. <br />The public hearing opened at 8:04 P.M. <br />Mr. Lee C. Smith-Could we change the request to <br />commercial instead of light industrial? Would <br />this settle the matter? (Mayor-The issue is of <br />property use, not title that we are concerned with). <br />Mr. Jess Varns, 7350 Silver Lake Road, stated that <br />years ago, when there was a bus depot there, there <br />was a lot of noise generated throughout the neigh- <br />borhood. He stated opposition to granting the <br />rezoning of 7288 Silver Lake Road. <br />Mr. Jim Wyatt-owner of 7288 Silver Lake Road. He <br />stated there would be no noise generated from his <br />proposed use of the property. <br />Mr. Don Peters, 7408 Silver Lake Road, asked what <br />type of business was going to be installed by Mr. Wyatt. <br />(Mayor-Mr. Wyatt is proposing a repair shop for snow- <br />mobiles and motorcycles. Mayor McCarty also noted that <br />he was not stating this shop would generate extra noise, <br />but that the issue really was a commercial zone did not <br />currently exist in this residentially zoned area). <br />Mr. Don Shaft, 2824 County Road H-2, noted that Mr. Wyatt <br />had made some improvements on the property. However, he <br />was not in favor of rezoning it to I-1, and stated the <br />possibility of a future owner other than Mr. Wyatt using <br />the 1-1 zoning for other purposes which could create <br />even more of a disturbance to the neighborhood. <br />7.
