MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL Regular Meeting <br />Page 6 September 8, 1980 <br />Rowley made a motion, seconded by Ziebarth, to <br />direct Administrator Pauley to answer the <br />survey and to check Option #2. <br />Ayes-5 Nays-0 MOTION CARRIES <br />2. There is a vacancy on the Rice Creek Watershed <br />District Board. She asked Administrator Pauley <br />to report back at the next meeting on the status <br />of the vacancy as well as any potential nomina- <br />tions for the post from Moundsview. <br />3. The chipping of branches should be completed by <br />Friday, September 12th. <br />MOTION: <br />Rowley made a motion, seconded by Forslund, to extend <br />the rental of one chipper at $450.00/week for two <br />weeks for the period ending Friday, September 12, 1980 <br />and these funds to be taken from the contingency fund. <br />Ayes-5 Nays-0 MOTION CARRIES <br />HODGES: No report. <br />ZIEBARTH: No report. <br />MCCARTY: <br />1. He noted he had received some calls from citizens <br />asking about shelters from storms. He noted that the <br />City should continue informing residents that the City <br />Hall was availe for shelter (if it was locked, they <br />could contact the Police Department). <br />Councilmember Rowley noted at this point that some <br />procedure should be developed for using the City Hall <br />for storm shelter, i.e. staff person provision, safety <br />measures for building and residents, etc. Administrator <br />Pauley noted that the police chief would be meeting with <br />Council at the next agenda meeting to discuss civil defense. <br />2. Mayor McCarty thanked Councilmembers Rowley and Ziebarth <br />for participating with him in a fund raising event for the <br />Ronald McDonald House (Associated with the Cancer Ui at <br />the University of Minnesota). <br />
