MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL Regular Meeting <br />Page 7 September 8, 1980 <br />vr" CARTY (continued): <br />3. There is a conference scheduled for October 10-11, <br />in St. Paul, in connection with The International Year <br />of Disabled Persons. They are asking for participants <br />to show displays of methods, instruments, aids that they <br />have developed to increase their potential for independent <br />living for disabled persons. <br />ADMINISTRATOR PAULEY: 17. REPORT OF THE <br />ADMINISTRATOR <br />1. He informed Council that the City has an oppor- <br />tunity to purchase a chipper (the one that has been <br />used for the chipping project the last few weeks) from <br />the company and 95% of the rental fees paid can be <br />applied to its purchase. Council will discuss this <br />at their next agenda session. <br />2. He will be writing New Brighton a letter of thanks <br />for the loan of their dump truck (pro gratus) during <br />the chipping production. <br />3. Effective immediately: The agenda packets will be <br />prepared on Thursdays-cut off for agenda items is 4:30 P.M., <br />Wednesdays. <br />4. Larry Decheine and Administrator Pauley met with <br />Mr. Ed Baker, 8155 Red Oak Drive, who complained to the <br />City that after the City's sewer jet rodder went through <br />his community, the sewage backed up into his basement. <br />Administrator Pauley asked Council to authorize staff to <br />contact the City's insurance company to follow up on this <br />claim. <br />MOTION: McCarty made a motion, seconded by Ziebarth, to authorize <br />staff to turn the claim on the part of Mr. Ed Baker, 8155 <br />Red Oak Drive, to the City's insurance company for disposi- <br />tion and handling. <br />Ayes-5 Nays-0 MOTION CARRIES <br />5. He noted the upcoming Local Government Days and <br />suggested some ideas for the open house, displays, etc. <br />He also suggested setting up an opportunity for high school <br />students to participate in ausimulated"Council meeting. <br />Councilmember Ziebarth will pursue this idea and'this will <br />be discussed at the next agenda session. <br />MOTION: <br />Forslund made a motion, seconded by Rowley to adjourn <br />at 9:20 P.M.
