SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br />City of Mounds View <br />January 19, 1981 <br />The meeting was called to order at <br />6:23 p.m. in the Mounds View City <br />Hall Council Chambers. <br />Members Present: Councilmembers <br />Forslund, Hodges, Blanchard, Doty, <br />and Mayor McCarty <br />Staff Present: Clerk - Administrator <br />Pauley <br />Mayor McCarty opened the meeting by <br />stating that the Clerk- Administrator <br />needed direction from the new City <br />Council prior to their work session <br />on January 25, 1981, in order for <br />the staff to have clear understanding <br />of the direction the new City Council <br />wishes to pursue. Mayor McCarty <br />stated that he felt that whatever <br />projects were instigated by the old <br />City Council, such projects would have <br />to be reaffirmed by the new City <br />Council prior to the implementation. <br />Councilmember Doty stated that his <br />major concerns for the next few years <br />would be the level of revenues the <br />City would be receiving and the need <br />to keep expenditures under control. <br />He stated that he does not want to <br />hire any new City employees until <br />after the January 25, 1981 work session <br />and only when he is convinced that <br />filling of the position is necessary <br />for the efficient operation of the <br />City. <br />Councilmember Forslund indicated that <br />she was also concerned about the <br />revenues and expenditures of the City <br />and would be wanting to review all <br />proposals budgeted or unbudgeted for <br />purchases exceeding a specified dollar <br />amount. <br />DATE APPROVED: 01 -26 -81 <br />1.
