MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL February 9, 1981 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br />- He reviewed some of the current public <br />works problems/concerns/accomplishments <br />BUILDING & ZONING OFFICIAL ROSE: <br />-He noted housing permit requests were <br />down 20% from the previous year. <br />- Inspections of the apartments are continuing <br />-He assisted the Planning Commission with <br />their Comprehensive Plan Update. <br />-The Planning Commission will be reviewing <br />the Silverview Park development proposal in <br />the near future. <br />PARKS, RECREATION & FORESTRY DIRECTOR ANDERSON: <br />- The hockey rinks will be closing Feb. 22nd. <br />-He indicated the lack of funds prohibiting <br />weekend maintenance of the skating rinks. <br />- He is working on the Silverview Park project <br />- He would like to discuss the Edgewood swimming <br />pool with the Council in the future. <br />POLICE CHIEF GRABOWSKI: <br />- The civil defense siren on County Road I was <br />found to be defective - it will be replaced by <br />March 1st. <br />- He thanked the Council on behalf of the police <br />force for authorizing the purchase of protective <br />vests for the officers. <br />8. Purchase of <br />Police Vehicles <br />MOTION: Forslund made a motion, seconded by <br />Blanchard, to accept the iten Chevrolet bid for <br />two 1981 squad cars totaling $16,298.00. Due <br />to the rising costs, $1,468.00 above the budgeted <br />amount will be temporarily taken from the contingency <br />funds and replaced when the two used squad cars <br />are sold. <br />Ayes-3 Nays-0 MOTION CARRIED. <br />9. City Newsletter <br />Bid Approval <br />MOTION: Doty made a motion, seconded by Forslund <br />to accept the low bid of American Color Press for <br />the city newsletter/parks and recreation information <br />for a total price of $6,911.00 and the three re- <br />maining bidders' certified checks are to be returned <br />to their respective firms by staff. <br />Ayes-3 Nays-0 MOTION CARRIED. <br />
