MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL <br />Regular Meeting <br />May 11, 1981 <br />Page 7 <br />Councils job is to keep peace between the neighbors. <br />She feels it is important for everyone to become <br />involved, and would like to have the issued put to <br />the citizens for a vote. <br />Gerald Fields, 2255 Lambert, he would like to have a <br />safe place where he can park his truck. He stated <br />that his truck was purchased last year at a cost of <br />$72,000. He does not think that his truck is any <br />louder than a snowmobile. Further that he would <br />rather pay the $5.00 fine than to park his truck <br />elsewhere. He stated that he does not believe <br />that there are anymore than 25 or 30 trucks that <br />park within the City. <br />Documentation of the original petitions was dis- <br />cussed in length. It was stated that the petition <br />with 300 names in favor of the Ordinance had been <br />mentioned in the Minutes, but that no petition had <br />been found. <br />Doris Olson, 8101 Edgewood, asked why it has taken <br />21 years to bring up the complaint about trucks. <br />Mrs. Delbert Stimpson, 5132 Long Lake Road, stated <br />that when the people next to their home bought <br />their house, her husband's truck was parked in the <br />yard at the time. <br />MOTION: Councilmember Doty made a motion, <br />seconded by Councilmember Forslund to approve the <br />2nd reading of Resolution No. 303 and to adopt <br />Resolution No. 303. <br />Vote was taken by calling of the roll. <br />3 ayes <br />2 nays (Hodges and Blanchard voted nay.) <br />MOTION CARRIED. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley read Ordinance No. 303. <br />Councilmember Doty asked if staff would prepare some <br />guidelines prohibiting the parking of semi's, flatbeds, <br />and refrigeration trucks. <br />
