MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL <br />Regular Meeting <br />May 26, 1981 <br />Page Six. <br />Regarding point #3 - He stated that customers do <br />not remain longer than 30 minutes after closing. <br />Regarding point #4 - He asked why arrests had not <br />been made if the sale of the controlled substances <br />had been made on the premises. <br />Regarding point #5 - He stated that this relates to <br />an altercation that ultimately resulted in the <br />death of a young man. He stated that this was about <br />a two punch fight that lasted about 30 seconds. That <br />it could not be helped and that it was tragic. <br />Further that the young man was allowed to go with a <br />friend and was not taken to the hospital for about <br />24 hours. Further that this could happen in any <br />establishment. <br />Regarding point #6 - He stated that the violations <br />which were listed in inspection memo of May 13, <br />1981, had been corrected. <br />Regarding point #7 - He stated that Mr. Hartinger <br />does accept the responsibility of the employees <br />which the law imposes on him. <br />Mr. Bergstein further stated that Mr. Hartinger pays <br />$7,000 per year in license fees. That he does not <br />know who the less desirable individuals are. <br />Mayor McCarty asked when he says that wrong conduct <br />has not been repeated, what about the complaint of <br />nudity of females then the complaint of nudity of <br />males. <br />Lurid conduct versus violation of the Ordinance was <br />discussed. <br />Mayor McCarty read article from the Dispatch News- <br />paper on December 11, 1980, regarding investigation <br />by undercover agents at the Launching Pad. <br />Mr. Bergstein stated that presently they have <br />dancers that are scantily dressed, but that they <br />are not in violation of the Codes. <br />Summary of further Discussion: <br />- Report from Ramsey County undercover agents. <br />- Protection of the Health, Welfare, and Safety <br />of the Community. <br />- Citations that have been issued to Mr. Hartinger. <br />- Wet T -Shirt contests. <br />- Female and Male dancers. <br />
