Mounds View City Council July 27, 1981 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br />:king on the long -term financial plans, and <br />also had developed a purchasing policy. <br />Building and Zoning Official Rose reported that <br />building permits were down slightly year -to -date <br />and that a great deal more remodeling was being <br />done versus new construction. He stated that <br />many housing inspections and reinspections were <br />being done. He added that the Planning Commission <br />and Staff have begun a review of the zoning codes <br />and subdivision codes. <br />Police Chief Grabowski reported that they have <br />been running short due to vacations and illnesses. <br />He stated he did not envision any manpower problems <br />for 1982 for the budget. <br />Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director Anderson <br />reported that the new forestry arrangement was <br />working very well. He stated that the summer <br />recreation programs were drawing to a close, <br />and that a joint commission between Mounds View, <br />Arden Hills, Shoreview and New Brighton was being <br />established to help coordinate all the programs. <br />stated that they had experienced some problems <br />di the use of the City picnic facilities and <br />-ne policy would have to be reviewed. He reported <br />the park referendum was coming up August 18 and <br />that they were in the process of getting the <br />information out to the public. Park Director <br />Anderson stated that the Festival in the Park had <br />generated $4,600. Mayor McCarty stated that he <br />felt the Festivities Commission had done an ex- <br />cellent job and wanted to recognize them in <br />some special way. <br />Clerk - Administrator Pauley reported he would <br />be taking comments from the Mayor's memo of <br />July 22 to the Council and any additional <br />comments from the Council and sending a memo <br />to the Net Council. <br />Mayor McCarty reported that he and Clerk- Adminis- <br />strator Pauley had met with representatives <br />of the Metropolitan Airport Commission the <br />past week regarding their capitol improve- <br />ment plan. He added that Mounds View and <br />Spring Lake Park will have a joint meeting <br />to discuss the Master Plan on July 29. <br />9.
