Mounds View City Council July 27, 1981 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br />erk- Administrator Pauley referred to a <br />letter received from Fire Chief Fagerstrom <br />requesting City assistance in staffing the <br />fire department. He added that Department <br />Heads would be asking Staff for volunteers, <br />and would be screening the volunteers and <br />giving a list to the Council for their <br />consideration. <br />Motion /Second: Hodges /McCarty to approve <br />the concept of having fire fighters from <br />the City work force, and have the Depart- <br />ment Heads see if they can come up with <br />volunteers from Staff. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Clerk - Administrator Pauley stated he would <br />prepare guidelines to cover compensation <br />and so forth. <br />Clerk - Administrator Pauley stated he was <br />satisfied with the facts that Fire Chief <br />'gerstrom had presented in his request <br />r additional funds for replacement of <br />an engine on fire engine No. 8. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Forslund to <br />approve Resolution No. 1342, whereas the <br />Fire Department budget for 1981 does not <br />provide for the contingency, and <br />whereas equipment failure has caused <br />extra expense to the Fire Department and <br />those extra expenses cannot be identified <br />in the present budget, whereas the Mounds <br />View City Council authorizes Staff to <br />transfer from the contingency fund $4,537 <br />to provide for repair of equipment necessary <br />for fire coverage to the City. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />John Mathern of Langenfeld & Sons reviewed <br />their request to the City. Building and <br />Zoning Official Rose reviewed the sewer and <br />watermain plans. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Hodges to approve <br />solution No. 1336 and waive the reading. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />10.
