Mounds View City Council August 24, 1981 <br />Regular Meeting Page Two <br />zssell Paul, 7940 Greenfield Avenue, stated he <br />aad also received a phone call from the Mounds <br />View People for Parks Committee, asking him how <br />he was going to vote. Mayor McCarty replied <br />that they would look into the situation and see <br />if any laws had been violated. He explained <br />that the City Council had charged the Parks <br />Commission with seeing that the residents were <br />informed, and that a subcommittee had been <br />formed, and many other groups came forward to <br />help. He also asked Staff to check into the <br />DFL inserts that were placed in the circulars <br />to see if any violations had occurred. <br />Mr. Paul also stated he felt the recent seal - <br />coating project that had been done in the City <br />was of poor quality, with the streets being <br />uneven. Mayor McCarty replied that it would <br />be looked into. <br />Bob Schmidt, 8110 Edgewood Drive asked if <br />Silverview Park had been part of the bond issue. <br />Mayor McCarty replied that it had not. <br />otion /Second: Forslund /Doty to approve the <br />.onsent agenda as presented and waive the <br />reading of the resolutions. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Jack Thesenga, of Nasco North. Central, Inc., <br />requested on behalf of four businesses located <br />in the Mounds View Industrial Park, that the <br />City discontinue the practice of billing sani- <br />tary sewer costs for water used in lawn <br />sprinkling. He added that the City had desired <br />they use separate water meters when installing <br />their automatic lawn sprinklers. <br />Official Rose stated that the City had never <br />required any development to install automatic <br />lawn sprinklers, and that the four businesses <br />had installed them by their own agreement. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley pointed out that <br />there was no documentation from meeting minutes <br />or applications or permits where it was ever <br />required that the applicants install an <br />automatic sprinkling system. <br />c. Thesenga stated that they could have put <br />in their own well for sprinkling, had they known <br />the cost involved in using the City water. <br />Mayor McCarty replied that it would not have been <br />allowed by the ordinance.
