Mounds View City Council August 24, 1981 <br />Regular Meeting Page Five <br />lerk /Administrator Pauley explained that the <br />Logos are required to be placed on the sides <br />of City vehicles in order to obtain a tax <br />exempt status for license plates. He stated <br />that the funds would have to come from the <br />contingency as it was not a budgeted item. <br />Mayor McCarty reminded the Council of their <br />firm resolve to not use the contingency funds. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Doty to have the <br />Department Heads find funds from their present <br />budgets to purchase logos for the vehicles <br />in their departments. If such funds are not <br />available, the logos should be budgeted for <br />in the 1982 budget. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Mayor McCarty noted that the bid tabulation <br />had been received for the Silverview Park <br />rough and final grading. He noted, however, <br />that the bidders did not bid on the same <br />amount of work, as Mary Anderson Construction <br />ad included the work they had done to date, <br />and thus their bid involved more work and was <br />higher than the other bidders. <br />Motion /Second: McCarty /Forslund to reject <br />all bids and readvertise, with a bid opening <br />date of Tuesday, September 8 at 1 PM. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Official Rose reported that the Planning <br />Commission had denied the variance request <br />of Harold Hjelle, and that he would like to <br />appeal the denial to the Council. <br />Motion /Second: Doty /Forslund to set a <br />public hearing for September 14, 1981 at <br />8 PM for Harold Hjelle, 5161 Red Oak Drive. <br />4 ayes 0 nays <br />Attorney Meyers had no report. <br />.uncilmember Forslund reported that <br />vandalism seems to be increasing in the <br />City and that additional lighting will <br />be requested by thecitizens. <br />11.
