RESOLUTION 7780 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZING TKDA TO PERFORM DESIGN SERVICES AND PREPARE CONTRACT <br /> DOCUMENTS FOR THE LAMBERT PARK BUILDING DEMOLITION AND <br /> CONSTRUCTION <br /> WHEREAS, the existing Lambert Park building was built approximately thirty years <br /> ago as a garage, then converted into a warming house in 1987, and is now in need of <br /> replacement; and <br /> WHEREAS, the replacement of the Random Park building has been in the planning <br /> for a number of years, including being listed in the Capital Improvement Program, Park <br /> Improvement Plan, and being discussed at nearly every meeting of the Parks and <br /> Recreation and Forestry Commission (Commission) since October 2009; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Commission made a recommendation (6 -0) on April 28, 2011 to hire <br /> an architectural consultant to perform professional design services and prepare plans and <br /> specifications for use in obtaining bids and constructing the new building; and <br /> WHEREAS, TKDA designed and prepared contract documents for the Hillview Park <br /> and Groveland Park buildings in 2001 and 2005, respectively; and <br /> WHEREAS, TKDA has provided an hourly rate fee proposal not to exceed $24,200 to <br /> perform professional design services and prepare plans and technical specifications for <br /> bidding and construction a building at Lambert Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, monies have been budgeted in 2011 under the Park Dedication Fund for <br /> the building replacement. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br /> View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The fee proposal submitted by TKDA of St. Paul, Minnesota to perform professional <br /> design services and prepare contract documents for the demolition and construction of <br /> the Lambert Park building is hereby accepted by the City. Compensation will be on an <br /> hourly plus reimbursement expense basis not to exceed $24,200. <br /> 2.
