RESOLUTION 7782 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZING AMERICAN ENGINEERING TESTING, INC. TO PERFORM PAVEMENT <br /> AND SOIL EVALUATIONS AND PREPARE A PRELIMINARY GEOTECHNICAL <br /> ENGINEERING REPORT FOR MUSTANG DRIVE, MUSTANG CIRCLE, PROGRAM <br /> AVENUE, AND BRONSON DRIVE <br /> WHEREAS, the City manages approximately 43 miles of street pavements; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mustang Drive, Mustang Circle, Program Avenue, and Bronson Drive are <br /> due or will be due for major pavement maintenance and rehabilitation in the near future; and <br /> WHEREAS, initial visual evaluations of in -field pavement conditions of said roadways <br /> indicate asphalt mix design issues common with the initial construction era of the roadways <br /> that may impact the available options for pavement improvements and techniques; and <br /> WHEREAS, American Engineering Testing, Inc. has assisted the City with the <br /> pavement evaluations and provided an hourly rate fee proposal for $12,104 to perform <br /> pavement and soil evaluations involving field sampling, lab testing, and preparing <br /> engineering reports for said roadways; and <br /> WHEREAS, monies are available in the 2011 Budget under the Street Improvement <br /> Fund (acct. 285 4470 7050). <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br /> View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The fee proposal submitted by American Engineering Testing, Inc. (AET) for an <br /> estimated maximum fee of $12,104 to perform pavement and soil evaluations and <br /> prepare a preliminary geotechnical engineering report for use in pavement improvements <br /> to Mustang Drive, Mustang Circle, Program Avenue, and Bronson Drive is accepted by <br /> the City. Compensation will be on an hourly rate plus reimbursable expenses. <br /> 2. A ten percent (10 contingency of $1,211 shall be added to the estimated maximum fee <br /> for a budget amount not to exceed $13,315. Funding shall be paid from the Street <br /> Improvement Fund (acct. 285 4470 7050). <br /> 3.
