RESOLUTION 7783 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING THE BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN POLICY <br /> WHEREAS, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Bloodborne <br /> Pathogen regulation protects employees who work in occupations where they are at risk of <br /> exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials; and <br /> WHEREAS, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen requirements state what employers must do <br /> to protect workers who are occupationally exposed to blood or other potentially infectious <br /> materials; and <br /> WHEREAS, this OSHA regulation requires employers to develop written policies to <br /> explain how they will implement the policy, provide training to employees and to protect the <br /> health and safety of their workers; and <br /> WHEREAS, under OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen regulation, the City is required to <br /> have a policy that covers all employees; and <br /> WHEREAS, the attached Bloodborne Pathogen Policy would serve as compliance <br /> under the OSHA regulation relating to Bloodborne Pathogens. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council hereby <br /> approves the Bloodborne Pathogen Policy as required under Title 29 of the Code of Federal <br /> Regulations (29 CFR 1910.1030). <br /> Adopted this 23rd day of May, 2011. <br /> f ,,„„d`oe Fla he y, ayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (seal) <br />
