RESOLUTION 7809 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> APPROVING A REVISED POSITION DESCRIPTION AND AUTHORIZING THE <br /> ADVERTISEMENT FOR HIRING A PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER IN THE <br /> SANITARY SEWER DIVISION <br /> WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is staffed with two maintenance workers <br /> responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of more than 44 miles of <br /> sanitary sewer pipe, 900 manholes, and two lift stations to ensure proper collection and transport <br /> of nearly 383,000,000 gallons of wastewater annually; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the maintenance workers in the sanitary sewer division recently gave <br /> notice of his resignation, leaving the position vacant on July 13, 2011; and <br /> WHEREAS, the position description for the sanitary sewer maintenance worker has been <br /> revised to clarify current requirements of the position; and <br /> WHEREAS, City staff recommends hiring this key position to assist with meeting the <br /> workload demands required to keep the wastewater collection system functioning properly and <br /> maximizing the life span of the infrastructure and equipment. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br /> Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The attached Public Works Maintenance Worker (Sanitary Sewer) position description is <br /> hereby approved. <br /> 2.
