RESOLUTION 7830 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING A LAYOUT CONFIGURATION FOR ON-STREET PARKING AT LAMBERT PARK WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 7176 on October 22, 2007 establishing the Street and Utility Improvement Program (Program), which includes nine Street and Utility Improvement Projects identified as Areas A through I; and WHEREAS, Lambert Avenue is located in Area D of the Program and there is a need for on-street parking for Lambert Park upon demolition of the parking lot and reconstruction of a new park shelter; and WHEREAS, various options for the layout configuration for striping of the bump-out, on-street parking on Lambert Avenue has been reviewed and discussed between City staff, Street and Utilities Committee (Committee), and Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission (Commission) since design engineering began in 2010; and WHEREAS, three different recommendations have been made that include 60- degree reverse angle parking (RAP) by the Committee, 60-degree angled parking by the Commission, and 90-degree perpendicular parking by City staff; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that 90-degree perpendicular parking is the best option for the on-street parking layout configuration. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. The on-street, bump-out parking area located on Lambert Avenue for Lambert Park shall be furnished and installed as shown on the attached Exhibit A for 90-degree perpendicular parking.
