RESOLUTION 7838 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AUTHORIZING BARR ENGINEERING COMPANY TO PERFORM A SEDIMENT <br /> SURVEY AND PREPARE AN EVALUATION REPORT FOR SILVER VIEW POND <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View is mandated to provide proper operation, <br /> maintenance, and repair to the various components that make up the City's stormwater <br /> system as part of compliance with the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) <br /> general permit and Clean Water Act; and <br /> WHEREAS, Silver View Pond provides stormwater treatment and flood <br /> protection for a drainage area of approximately 146 acres; and <br /> WHEREAS, water quality performance is hindered by excessive sediment <br /> buildup, and Silver View Pond is in need of a sediment survey to determine current <br /> water quality performance and provide recommendations for long-term performance; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City received a proposal from Barr Engineering Company of <br /> Minneapolis, Minnesota for $9,950 to provide a sediment survey and assessment of <br /> performance of Silver View Pond; and <br /> WHEREAS, monies have been budgeted in 2011 under the Stormwater <br /> Enterprise Fund for this work. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br /> Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> 1. The letter proposal submitted by Barr Engineering Company to provide professional <br /> engineering services to perform a sediment survey and prepare an evaluation report <br /> for Silver View Pond is hereby accepted by the City. Compensation will be on an <br /> hourly basis plus reimbursable expenses for an estimated maximum fee of$9,950. <br /> 2. Upon satisfactory review of the City Attorney, the Mayor and City Administrator are <br /> hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City, to enter into <br /> agreement with Barr Engineering Company for said services at said price. <br /> Adopted this 10th day of October, 2011. <br /> e r <br /> ATTEST: f <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br /> (SEAL) <br />
